Perched on a minuscule atoll in the Gulf of Mexico, it's a three-hour boat ride from Key West. Twice visited, the blend of military architecture and tropical climate captivates. Snorkeling and swimming around abandoned jetties reveal vibrant marine life. Even on partly cloudy days, the sun's intensity washes out the sand, casting shimmers on the water, and blurring the horizon.
