The HumiCase Protege Thinbody guitar case is part of a special line of products designed to protect classical and flamenco guitars that are more susceptible to changes in climate than other guitars. Made of lightweight construction, this case has a hard plastic shell and rigid foam interiors to prevent your instrument from moving. Protective bumpers, full-length neck support, and a fitted deluxe plush interior also help protect your guitar. The guitar case's contoured arched lid will fit knobs on electric models. But, as mentioned before, the biggest protection the HumiCase Protege Thinbody guitar case provides is its ability to control the humidity inside between gigs. This case fits the Cordoba 55FCE, FCWE, C5-CET, and C5-CETBK. <br><br><strong>How humidity is kept constant in the Humicase Protege</strong><br>Two rigid pods (included) containing specially treated foam sponges mount on Velcro strips in custom recesses in the lid over the sound hole and behind the headstock. The sponges are to be soaked with the included special solution that activates the compound with which each sponge is impregnated during manufacture. The advantage to this special sponge is that it releases humidity into the air at a steady rate, keeping the humidity constant without increasing it beyond a desirable level. Just keep it in the case to monitor your humidity levels. When the humidity begins to drop, it's time to recharge the pods. After you've used all the activation solution (comes with 2 bottles), simply use distilled water to keep the humidifier pods charged and renew with activation solution periodically as needed to allow complete saturation of the pods.
